yesterday was my mums birthday :) yes we celebrate only two days apart, pretty nice huh?
we visited the ideenwelt two weeks ago, where we found this super cute elephant fabric. my mum lives for elephants, her whole flat is filled with them.
so i made her this little pencil case to store her very important headmaster pens. that’s right my mum is a headmistress, she used to be a primary school teacher… which i’m hopefully going to be in about three years from now. i’m really glad i have her and all her knowledge about teaching and kids. it helps me so much. thank you mum :) love you!

when my friends are celebrating their birthday i always try to do something special for them. i don’t know if they always like it ;) but i just don’t like to buy stuff. some people are just not pleased with self made things, like my sis, but when you’re new to my circles i can always give it a first try. so when birgits birthday came along i new this was a good choice. this is a chalk bag for those of you who don’t climb. i made one for myself some month ago too.

because it’s back to school for me next week i organized my stuff… well to be honest not all of it :) but a tiny bit of it at least.
while giving away all my old paper stuff and throwing out things i thought i needed i decided i didn’t like my wooden folders as they where… so i painted them with chalk paint – the perfect little thing to do to wooden things these days.

all you have to do is just to put some masking tape around the edges and paint along… you can change the label for your folders in no time now, in case you are as jumpy as me with these things.

with all this new climbing gear i bought in arco i needed a new chalk bag as well. what’s a chalk bag you may ask. Well that’s this little bag climbers take with them, from time to time they reach into it and get white fingers because it’s filled with… chalk ;) and it’s supposed to give you a better grip on the wall. it’s calming to have something with you when you panic and your fingers get even more slippery.

anyways, yesterday i decided to use the fabric i bought at edelstoff to sew a new chalk bag. it turned out pretty don’t you think?
