clouds are my new favorite thing since i saw “cloudy with a chance of meatballs” last year. loved it.

all you need is magnetic paint, a brush, chalkboard paint, clay, magnets and glue. oh and a wooden-board. :)

while the different layers of paint dry you can start with the raindrops. cut them out of the air dry clay, wait till they are hard and glue them to your magnets.

When the last layer of magnetic paint is dry you can ad one more layer of chalkboard paint. :) isn’t it the cutest little cloud?

i mentioned these two before. i don’t know where, when and why the idea came up but some time ago teresa wrote a medley, made out of different beyonce songs. julia and her are probably the biggest beyonce fans one can imagine. they even drove to bratislava to attend her concert :)

anyways, we decided to make a video – a tribute to queen b. for being an awesome and strong woman.

making this video brought up some discussions about self-expression, perfectionism, and how NOT to take yourself too seriously. Doing this blogthing for more than four years now, i often thought about how my live looks trough this tiny window. i do write about the bad things that happen and how stressful life seems sometimes but i just post pictures i like. only when i think i look alright and projects that made me proud enough to post. I don’t want to create a picture of a perfect life over here, these things i post are just the ones i’m most proud of. but it’s true that it might create a not so clear view of my life and myself.

of course i have this not so hidden agenda to put myself out there, to be present, to show what i can do and to get approval. but it’s not to show off… i started this to share my ideas. it grew into something bigger but the thought is still the same.

and if you take this video for instance, this is far from perfect. but exactly like someone said to me today: “it was brave to put it out there.” i didn’t take it as an insult. because it’s true. it was brave to show the small web-world we have access to, that we like queen b., that we like to do fun things together and to be proud of it. if people think this is somehow a blurred view of how life really is, they are right. but it’s alright to show these parts… it’s ok to have this urge to share things with others and let’s face it, who want’s to see the boring parts of an everyday life? it’s much more fun, to laugh together with us about our performance :)

the last time i’ve been to my grandparents place, the weather was bad and there was still snow. but today everything looked different. sunny and green. i spent some time in the woods after being a good grandchild and cleaning all the windows in the house (uhg, yes…!) a tree helped me as a tripod :)

i’ve been studying all day long today. but the weather was so nice and i just couldn’t focus anymore. thanks to these two i could escape my papers and went out for two hours of sunlight.

when the weather get’s hot i’m getting even lazier in the kitchen.

so this is a nice and quick recipe i tried. cut puff pastry in little squares and put some feta, tomatoes and thyme on top of it. maybe ad some drops of olive oil…  put it into the oven for about 10 to 12 minutes. and add some fresh basil leafs when your little tarts are done.

isn’t the smell of lilac the most wonderful thing in spring? i know some people dislike it but i just can’t get enough!

lili and i went on a walk through st.marx cemetery on sunday, enjoyed the sunlight and the fresh lilac blossoms all over the place. it might sound strange to take a walk on a cemetery, but this one is open to the public. it’s closed for new funerals and you can take a look at really beautifully carved gravestones. there are little meadows where the most beautiful flowers bloom and you can just walk around on little alleys.

sometimes i try out ideas which i build in my head… and somehow they don’t look how i wanted them to :)

anyhow this one didn’t go as planed but looks nice as well.

i wanted to make a bowl out of air dry clay and press a fern into the clay. well this did work, but i didn’t think of the fact, that once it was dry i would see the fern on the outside anymore. so if you want to try out this bowl, you might want to place your fern “print” on the inside of your bowl. :)

this is how you do it:

you need

press the fern onto the flattened clay

put something round onto the clay and cut it out

put your clay circle into the bowl and form a nice seam, let it dry for a day

you can smooth the seam with a nail file like i did here

finished, i use it for tiny objects i tend to lose

i just can’t get enough of fern. i think baby fern plants look like the home of tiny fairies, when the roll out the look so magical. even though it’s “just” a green plant i think it might be one of my favourites!

the weather makes me feel like it’s summer already. between uni and uni work stuff i try to get out a lot. yesterday i combined training my guitar “skills” with some sunshine. i really like playing the guitar, i didn’t really think i would when i first started in december. but now that there are more than two chords in my repertoir i can (try to) play more fun songs.

when i was little my dad used to play the guitar and my sister and i would cuddl up beside him and sing songs. i loved that!

i’ve been waiting to do this some time now, but i thought it would be boring to show me studying different things every hour. so i waited for a more adventurous day… which didn’t come along, so i took this sunday, filled with friends and work. it’s not exactly my whole day… but still 10 hours of it.

the blurry one above. 10am ready to start the day, sunglases and all!
actually my day started at 8am but all the pictures somehow came out super high lit… the camera was still tired i guess ;)

11am: cheering with julie for teresa… who’s running the vienna city half maraton

12pm: she’s our hero

1pm: coffee, flowers and work at h.annas place

2pm: still working

3pm: more coffee for work… there’s so much to do!

5pm: going home… already tired

6pm: coming home – this one is already waiting for me

7pm: and this one wants my supper

8pm: pan doesn’t want to cuddle …now my work “day” begins

now that the light is gone i start with my school/university work. but that might be boring on pictures. even though i’m someone who has her camera around all the time it’s not so easy to take a pic every hour. but it’s sort of fun to capture a “whole” day… i hope your sunday was as sunny as mine!

i should study biology at the moment… there’s another assignment tomorrow :) i convinced myself that working with plastic animals might count as biology as well…
plus, my new shirt needed a little friend. so i made this 10 minute diy.

all you need

paint the animal with varnish, let it dry and add black eyes in case you painted them silver as well ;)

use a hot glue gun to glue the animal to a pin

and finished… super quick and easy! i bought a box of these tiny plastic animals at nanunana. they just had to come with me :)

mr. pan is a bit annoyed be me working all the time, he want’s to play!

this weekend has been sort of slow.

i had to bring mr. pan to the doctors office on saturday and kept the rest of the day watching him around walking like a drunk kitten. poor little one.
but today he was much better already.

i love snow, but i feel like i need some sunlight vitamins quickly. school started yesterday and it didn’t go as planned, the first time i felt very out of control in a classroom even though it wasn’t that wild or bad. but i just couldn’t do all the things i had planned. well i guess that is one experience that was necessary to make. still… yesterday didn’t feel so good.

since there was no snow for christmas this year it finally made...

since there was no snow for christmas this year it finally made it for easter. thanks snow! ;) well that didn’t make the easter egg hunt any easier.

it’s a tradition to have a gazilion dyed easter eggs at my grandmothers house. we found all of them, which is a surprise, by the second time around the house. my grandmother and my cousins dyed these super pretty eggs… i’m trying these next year. :) we spent the days with walks through the woods and lot’s of food.
